About Julia

I have been passionate about swimming for as long as I can remember. Growing up, my parents regularly took my siblings and me to the local recreation center, as well as to the lake for boating and jet skiing trips, and to the ocean when we lived in Florida for several years. Early on, I became involved in artistic swimming and summer swim teams, eventually progressing to a USA swim team. In high school, I continued to compete, swimming for both my USA team and my school team.

The pool has always felt like a second home to me. As I spent so much time there, it seemed only natural to pursue lifeguarding as my first job. Over the course of six years as a lifeguard, I was encouraged to become a group swim instructor. This opportunity quickly became a passion, as I found great fulfillment in teaching children an essential life skill while fostering a love for swimming.

My journey with ISR (Infant Swimming Resource) began after I met an ISR instructor at the YMCA where I was working. After learning about ISR’s mission and methodology, I knew it was the perfect fit for me. I completed my ISR training in Lubbock, Texas, in the summer of 2019, and since then, I have been dedicated to teaching ISR lessons. To date, I have had the privilege of teaching over 500 students across Colorado, Minnesota, Texas, and Costa Rica.
